The Ohio Five (OH5) is a dynamic collaborative network of academic institutions committed to fostering unique opportunities through collaboration. By harnessing the collective power of our consortium, we strive to save resources, drive innovation, and enhance educational experiences. Here’s a glimpse into how we engage with stakeholders:

Grant Funding

Our consortium provides grant funding opportunities through partnerships with industry leaders like Intel and esteemed funders like the Hewlett Foundation. These grants support innovative research projects, technology development, and educational initiatives across our member institutions.

Internship Experiences

A partnership with The Ohio State University, the OH5-OSU SURE (Summer Undergraduate Research Experience) program is an immersive initiative designed to provide undergraduate students with hands-on, R1 research experiences during the summer months. Through this program, students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty mentors on research projects spanning various disciplines.

Communities of Practice

OH5 promotes communities of practice where faculty, staff, and campus leaders can collaborate, share best practices, and engage in professional development activities. These communities enhance teaching and research outcomes while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Collaborative Workshops and Trainings

We facilitate collaborative workshops and training sessions that tackle a range of topics, including Title IX compliance, sustainability, and generative AI, along with addressing emerging trends, technologies, and challenges in higher education. These events not only offer valuable networking opportunities but also equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their respective fields.

Efficiencies and Resource Sharing

Through our collaborative efforts, we create efficiencies and save resources by sharing expertise, buying power, and resources across our member institutions. This collective approach maximizes the impact of our initiatives and promotes sustainable practices in academia.
