Sarah Stone was appointed Executive Director of the Five Colleges of Ohio in 2017 following a 35-year career in higher education program development and fundraising. Stone (formerly Sarah Kahrl) served as Kenyon’s vice president for college relations from 2004-2014, where she oversaw Kenyon’s external and alumni relations, development, publications, and media. She led the successful “We Are Kenyon” campaign, which surpassed its goal in 2011, raising $240 million and earning the Council for Aid and Support of Education (CASE) award for overall fundraising achievement for Kenyon, one of four colleges internationally to receive this designation. From 2014-17, Stone led the development of the Kenyon Institute, an array of writing programs for professionals, now part of the Kenyon Review and held the dual role of Senior Advisor to the President for Strategic Initiatives, providing assistance to collegiate planning and development programs. Prior to her tenure at Kenyon, Stone developed annual and capital campaigns for a decade as vice president for advancement and also served as interim president at CAPA, a multi-state arts and entertainment presenter based in Columbus, Ohio. Stone received a B.A, in English Literature and Theatre from Smith College in 1979 and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Collaborative Leadership.

Susana Velazquez joined the staff of The Five Colleges of Ohio as the Program and Budget Manager in 2018. She is primarily responsible for maintaining and monitoring the financial records of the organization and the grants which it oversees. In addition, Susana provides planning and logistical support to the Ohio Five’s various standing and grant committees. She will also lend her leadership in the development of evaluation methods for the organization’s initiatives.

Prior to joining The Ohio Five, Susana worked in Cuyahoga County government for over ten years in the areas of strategic and operational planning, performance management, continuous quality improvement, and contract development. She also has several years of experience as a staff accountant for a local enterprise. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester with a M.S. in Public Policy Analysis, a B.A. in Health and Society, and expects to earn her AAB in Accounting in 2018.

Christine Kimball is the Director of Strategic Procurement for The Five Colleges of Ohio, Inc. The first to fill the role created by the consortium in 2012, Christine is responsible for strategic procurement collaboration, the development of consortial contracts, and the implementation of cost saving initiatives for the member institutions. In addition, she manages the consortial web-based eprocurement system, which streamlines the procurement processes for the colleges and the consortium.  

Prior to joining the Ohio Five, Christine spent six years in information technology, supporting business systems at The Ohio State University. She has twenty years of procurement experience working in higher education, healthcare and fortune 500 companies. She has served as a supply-chain optimization advisor for the University Healthsystem Consortium, as an academic medical center representative to the Inter-University Council of Ohio, and is a member of multiple local and national procurement associations. She earned her B.S. in Business Administration at Ohio Dominican University.

Ben Daigle is the Associate Director of Consortial Library Systems for the Five Colleges of Ohio, providing leadership and strategic thinking to library leaders and staff in the areas of library technology and digital scholarship. He is the Principal Investigator of an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation grant titled Digital Collections: From Projects to Pedagogy and Scholarship and oversees operation of the consortium's shared library management system.

A strong collaborator, Ben works to foster partnerships between library staff, technologists, and faculty, leveraging the consortial scale of the Ohio Five to participate meaningfully in strategic digital initiatives such as digital scholarship, digital preservation, and emerging library technology innovations.

Prior to joining the Five Colleges of Ohio, Ben served as the Discovery Services Librarian at Ohio Wesleyan University, a role that straddled the traditional boundaries between technical services and liaison librarianship. Prior to that, he served as an implementation manager at the global library cooperative OCLC where he worked with dozens of libraries to navigate their implementations of OCLC's WorldCat Local discovery product. Ben brings a unique perspective to the field influenced by his experiences in both the library and technology fields.

Matt McNemar joined The Five Colleges of Ohio in June of 2016 as the part-time Library Web Services Assistant. In July of 2018, his role was expanded to a full-time position. He is responsible for maintaining the MARC records for the consortium’s electronic resources, and serves as first-tier technical support for library circulation and for the shared cataloging system (Sierra/CONSORT).

Prior to his position with The Five Colleges of Ohio, Matt spent a number of years in the insurance industry. During his experience adjusting claims, Matt developed strong relationship-building skills and excelled in conflict resolution. His technical aptitude made him a valuable resource, and he was often recruited to help develop training programs and process improvement initiatives.

Olivia Geho, a graduate of Denison University's Class of 2016, is our inaugural Post-Baccalaureate Fellow in Digital Scholarship. Olivia is spending twelve months with the Ohio Five to research and recommend emerging methods and technologies with application to digital scholarship and digital humanities pedagogy on our campuses. She'll be working closely with librarians, faculty, students, and technologists to contribute to new and ongoing projects both inside and outside the classroom.

While a student at Denison, Olivia did a lot of the heavy lifting on a digital project led by Assistant Professor of English Dr. Regina Martin entitled Literature and Professional Life, an oral history project aimed at exploring the the impact of a liberal arts education through the life experiences of alumni from the Denison University English department.
