During the spring of 1998, the Five Colleges of Ohio Government Documents Group received word that funds from the Mellon Foundation had been set aside for a consortial project to catalog historical government publications. Since four of the five colleges in the consortium have depository designations dating to the 19th century and the fifth college maintains a sizable historical collection despite its relatively late depository designation, this project will make accessible many excellent historical materials previously unknown to most patrons. This project will involve both copy cataloging and original catalog and is expected to last three years.
