Advanced Chinese Language Curricular Development

Professors of Chinese from Denison, Kenyon, Oberlin, and Wooster held a day-long seminar to present their materials and syllabi for teaching advanced Chinese language. They used this meeting to make plans for new initiatives and increased communication between the four departments. A second meeting and workshop in developing coursework and teaching strategies in advanced Chinese, including the initiation of the proposed 2018-19 collaborative distance language course, took place on January 27, 2018.

Assistant Professor of Computer Science – Tenure Track

The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at The College of Wooster invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to start in August 2021. The department has twelve full-time faculty, and offers majors in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistical & Data Sciences, graduating approximately 50 seniors each year. We place a strong emphasis on experiential learning, with every student completing a year-long senior thesis project and many participating in our unique Applied Methods & Research Experience summer consulting program.

Assistant Professor - African American History

The Department of History at The College of Wooster invites applications for a tenure-track position in African American History at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in August 2021. We seek a broadly trained specialist in African American history. We are interested in candidates who can contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary programs (e.g., Africana Studies; Archaeology; Environmental Studies; Global & International Studies; Global Media & Digital Studies; Urban Studies; and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies). Ph.D. expected by August 2021.
