Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus. We are seeking candidates for the position of Counseling Fellow. This is a 10 month salaried, full time appointment, with benefits.
Applicant will hold a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a doctoral degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology (ABD is acceptable); this position provides clinical and supervisory hours that will contribute to licensure requirements in the state of Ohio as either a mental health counselor or psychologist. The ideal candidate will be a generalist and have experience with and/or strong interest in serving college student populations. Excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to form strong working/collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff members, and the ability to relate effectively with diverse members of the University community are essential.
Ohio Wesleyan University's Counseling Services is part of the Division of Student Engagement and Success and is located in the Hamilton Williams Campus Center. Counseling Services serve students exclusively and a substantial number of students seek our support during their collegiate journey.
OWU Counseling Services seeks to fill a ten-month position for a Counseling fellow.
Responsibilities and duties:
Provision of :
- individual and group counseling
- crisis intervention
- educational outreach
- training for faculty/staff/students
- other duties as assigned by the Director of Counseling Services
