The Departments of Africana Studies and Political Science at The College of Wooster seek to fill a one-year visiting position at the level of Assistant Professor divided between Africana Studies (2/3rd) and Political Science (1/3rd), beginning in the August 2020. Broad training in Africana Studies and Political Science, with a focus on African politics, is required.
We are especially interested in hiring faculty who can contribute to the intellectual vibrancy and diversity of the academic community through their teaching, and services. The College of Wooster enrolls a diverse student body (21% domestic students of color and 15% international students); all applicants are expected to discuss their experience working with diverse student populations.
The successful candidate should have a demonstrated ability to teach courses in Africana Studies, upper level courses in Africana Studies and comparative politics, and to advise undergraduate independent study projects in Africana Studies, comparative politics, and international students); all applicants are expected to discuss their experience working with diverse student populations.
