The Five Colleges of Ohio Seeks Its Next Director of Strategic Procurement

Posted on June 17, 2022

The Five Colleges of Ohio (a consortium of The College of Wooster, Denison University, Kenyon College, Oberlin College, and Ohio Wesleyan University) seeks its next Director of Strategic Procurement (DSP) to lead our strong shared procurement program, administer procurement software platforms, and leverage data to achieve strategic cost-saving initiatives and consortial contracts.

The DSP fosters collaboration among college procurement personnel, advancing the shared program’s strategic goals of cost savings/avoidance, service improvement, sustainability, and diversity. The DSP uses data management and analytics to evaluate vendor performance and contracts, RFPs, procurement-related risk, and future program strategy.

The Director oversees system administration of the shared Jaggaer e-procurement portal while managing suppliers, PCard utilization, contracts, workflow  and financial approvals. The DSP leads system enhancements and projects, integrates system data with college ERP systems, and provides meaningful consortial spend analytics using system data.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in business, operations, or finance with 3-5 years of experience in purchasing and/or contract administration. Strong system administration ability is key, preferably with Jaggaer systems. We’re looking for a skilled facilitator who can foster collaborations among college business teams, with excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

This position offers flexibility, with an office located on any of our campuses and some remote work options. The DSP’s regular travel to the five colleges and web-based communications are also supported to provide all constituents with appropriate support. Generous Kenyon College benefits, including tuition remission, TIAA/CREF retirement and many other benefits are included.

Ohio Five continues to invest in its purchasing and business programs, making this an exciting opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience with shared purchasing applications, and  exercise the ability to define a vision for a team and bring it to fruition.  For more information, review the Job Posting and Full position description.

Applications are invited at careers.kenyon.edu and should include a cover letter, current resume, and two references.
